Red Rose for Gregory hosted by The Gregory Isaacs Foundation is a Valentine concert hosted in
honour of one of Jamaica’s greatest Recording Artistes, Entertainer and Prolific song writer – Gregory
Anthony Isaacs (deceased) Isaacs was recently bestowed with the honorary title of Officer of the
Order of Distinction’ by the Government of Jamaica and The Blue Plaque by the British Government.
The event is in its third taging and has successfully hosted artists such as International
Group Atlantic Starr, International Recording Artist Kelly Price, with exciting local
performers Christopher Martin, Romain Virgo, Cat Coore of Third World, Freddie
McGregor, PaKaGe (Patricia – from the group Ebony), Karen Smith and Gem Myers, Robert
Minott,among others. Peabo Bryson –established his career as one of the premier male vocalists in
contemporary music of the last quarter century. Possessing a rich, almost
operatic voice, this two time Grammy award winner has survived and prospered despite the passage
of time and changes in popular music trends. With twenty albums to his
credit,Peabo Bryson has enjoyed unprecedented success across the world. Bryson has the
distinction of being the first artist in music history to have separate records topping four different
charts. Regina is an American singer- songwriter and actress who first started her career in the mid–
1980s. Known for her singles, “Baby Come to Me” (1989) and “Make It Like It Was” (1990), Belle is
famous for two hit duets, both with Peabo Bryson: “Without You” the
love theme from the comedy film Leonard Part 6, recorded in 1987 and “A Whole New World”, the
main theme of the Disney’s animated feature film Aladdin, recorded in 1992, for which Belle and
Bryson won the Grammy award.
A host of favorite local acts will also pay homage to our local music and the legendary Cooler Ruler
– Gregory Isaacs.
